Headquarters of the Scuola Normale Superiore since 1846, it is one of the city’s most renowned historic buildings, granted to the SNS for perpetual, free use in 1934.

How to reach us

Those coming from other SNS sites in the historic city center can easily reach it on foot or by bike, heading towards Piazza dei Cavalieri.

By bus, you can get off at the nearest stops in the Piazza dei Cavalieri / Santa Caterina area and walk for a few minutes. From Pisa Centrale or San Rossore railway stations, the building can be reached with a short taxi ride or on foot.

If you are arriving by car, please note that the area is subject to a Limited Traffic Zone (ZTL). We recommend using car parks outside the city center and completing the final stretch on foot.

The server rooms are located on the ground floor. For access, the recommended entrance is through the gate of Palazzo d’Ancona (Via Consoli del Mare); alternatively, use the main entrance of Palazzo della Carovana and ask the reception desk for directions.
