Welcome to the Scuola Normale Superiore.
On this page, you will find the main digital services you need to know about and configure during your stay at the Scuola. The services available and the duration of access may vary depending on the type of collaboration and the permissions assigned to you.
Getting started
Activate and secure your SNS account
Your SNS credentials give you access to the digital services enabled for your profile. When you first sign in, check that your account is working correctly, set a secure password and configure multi-factor authentication, if required.
Access your institutional email
If included in your profile, your SNS email account can be used for communications relating to your activities at the Scuola. You can access it through a web browser or configure it on your devices.
Connect to the Wi-Fi network
You can access the wireless network at the Scuola’s premises using your SNS credentials or those provided by your home institution, if it participates in eduroam.
Use productivity and collaboration tools
The Scuola provides Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace for creating and sharing documents, storing files, communicating and collaborating online. The applications and features available may vary depending on your user profile and the service concerned.
Access teaching and learning platforms
The Scuola’s digital platforms allow you to view learning materials, take part in course activities and access resources provided by teaching staff and organisational units.
Access software and research resources
Depending on your activities and the permissions assigned to you, you may access software, licences and technological resources provided by the Scuola for research and scientific collaboration.
For access to specific resources, contact your host unit or contact person at the Scuola.
Access the Scuola’s resources remotely
When you are away from the Scuola’s premises, some internal services and resources may require a secure VPN connection. Access depends on the permissions associated with your profile.
Duration of access
Your SNS account and associated permissions are linked to the duration of your stay at the Scuola. Once they expire, some services may no longer be accessible.
Before the end of your collaboration, make sure you have transferred any documents and data you wish to retain. To request an extension or additional permissions, contact your host unit or contact person at the Scuola.
