High Performance Computing

The High Performance Computing provides technological and instrumental support to research groups, research centers and laboratories.

The service is intended for research activities requiring scientific computing on high-performance architectures, web services, databases and web pages for research purposes.

The center manages computational clusters, computing infrastructures, workload and storage quota management systems, scientific software, virtual machines, containers and infrastructures for research websites.

Operational requests, such as HPC accounts, hosting and storage areas for research projects, are managed through the dedicated forms.

Get started

  1. Consult the High Performance Computing Center service page.
  2. Check whether the need concerns high-performance computing, web services, databases, research web pages, hosting or storage.
  3. Open the “Forms” section.
  4. Select the relevant form among HPC account request, computationally intensive hosting, non-computationally intensive hosting or creation of a storage area for a research project.
  5. For use of the Trantor cluster, consult the “Wiki” section.
  6. Follow the specific documentation available in the Wiki for resources, connecting to nodes, Linux commands, PBS jobs, Singularity, Jupyter Notebook and Conda.
