What are the criteria for choosing a new password?

When setting or changing your institutional account password, your new password must meet the following requirements:

• The minimum password length is 15 characters.
• The characters must be standard ASCII characters (32-126). This includes:
• !”#$%&'()*+,-./ 0123456789 :;<=>?@ ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ []^_` abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz {|}~
• The password must contain at least 3 of the following categories:
  • lowercase characters
  • uppercase characters
  • numbers
  • punctuation marks
• must not contain your first or last name
• cannot be a dictionary word
• must not contain diacritical (accented) characters
