Welcome to the Scuola Normale Superiore.
On this page, you will find the main digital services you need to know about and configure when starting your work at the Scuola: user credentials, email, workplace devices, collaboration tools and access to the Scuola’s applications.
Getting started
Activate and secure your SNS account
Your SNS credentials give you access to the Scuola’s main digital services. When you first sign in, check that your account is working correctly, set a secure password and configure multi-factor authentication, if required.
Access your institutional email
Your SNS email account is the official channel for institutional communications. You can access it through a web browser or configure it on your work devices, together with your calendar and other connected tools.
Connect to the network
You can use both the wired and Wi-Fi networks at the Scuola’s premises. The eduroam network also allows you to connect when visiting other universities and research institutions participating in the federation.
Use productivity and collaboration tools
The Scuola provides Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace for creating and sharing documents, storing files, managing tasks and calendars, communicating and collaborating online. The applications and features available may vary depending on your user profile and the service concerned.
Access administrative applications
Depending on your role and the permissions assigned to you, you can access the applications used to manage administrative, financial, document-related and personnel processes.
Some permissions must be requested by the head of your organisational unit or through the relevant procedures.
Store and share work documents
Personal storage spaces, shared folders and cloud services are available for storing and sharing documents. Choose the solution best suited to the type of data and the way you need to collaborate, taking care to protect confidential and personal information.
Access the Scuola’s resources remotely
When you are away from the Scuola’s premises, some internal services and resources may require a secure VPN connection.
Work securely
Protect the credentials and devices you use for work, carefully check unexpected messages and requests, and promptly report any unusual activity or suspected security incidents.
